Jumper settings for new Taka-Nami

Jumper settings for new Taka-Nami

Newer Taka-Namis include a new core logic with implements the configuration slightly different than previous ones. You still can select which slot (or sub-slot) uses your motherboard ram but with a different jumper settings table:

 :  :  :  :  do not use fast-ram (not recommended)
 :  :  : [:] slot 1 (not expanded)
 :  : [:] :  slot 2 (not expanded)
 :  : [:][:] slot 3 (not expanded)
 : [:] :  :  slot 3-0 (expanded)
 : [:] : [:] slot 3-1 (expanded)
 : [:][:] : slot 3-2 (expanded)
 : [:][:][:] slot 3-3 (expanded)

Jumpers 2-3-4 to select ram slot location

You can still enable fast timing to motherboard rom using jumper 1. That doesn't change with newer firmware.

New features

Newer core includes the possibility to map slot 0 rom (bios/basic) in fast ram, for even faster basic programs. That feature is unrelated to actual ram access timing (or jumper 1) but is activated by software instead.

The possibility to use a rom image loaded in ram allows the usage of a modified rom, without even flashing or modifying your actual motherboard rom!
